Point Inside is looking for an experienced full-time Data Content Technician

You love detail and organization. You are looking for the perfect opportunity to showcase all of your skills, over and over. You have an interest in digital graphics, mapping, mobile apps and technology.

Data Content Technicians at Point Inside are self-starters with an eye for detail who look to gain valuable experience utilizing internal tools and processes. You will support the creation of visual data (retail, travel, corporate, entertainment) resulting in a highly accurate, interesting and usable mapping experience. We’ll teach you everything you need to know to combine your Adobe skills with our proprietary software.

What You'll Do:

  • Use graphics software and our proprietary navigation software to create and update digital smart maps

  • Follow defined end-to-end processes to successfully validate venues for publishing

  • Conduct self and peer quality reviews to ensure venues meet requirements for superior user experiences

  • Work with the team to develop and document improvements for quality and project tracking

  • Be available to work overtime during sprints

What Experience You'll Bring:

  • Ability to quickly learn and execute repeatable data entry tasks (this is a production environment)

  • Ability to sustain sharp focus in a production environment

  • Agility in switching between different kinds of map-related tasks

  • Intense drive in completing weekly project schedules on time

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a hands-on, proactive attitude

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Passion for process and doing things right

  • A strong interest in learning about smartphone user experiences (iPhone, Android)

Who We Are:

Point Inside was founded in 2009 with a goal of becoming the world leading indoor mapping and indoor location based services platform. In 2020, looking to move beyond our core business of retail and travel, we identified an opportunity with last-mile package delivery inside of buildings. We are building up our team and technologies in preparation to launch Bootworks by Pointinsde as a start-up venture to capitalize on this opportunity.

It turns out that indoor package delivery is VERY problematic. It consumes valuable resources, trucks and drivers, for long periods of time. A large mall can consume two trucks and two drivers for a whole day. Last mile delivery, which is serviced by these same trucks and drivers, is the biggest choke point for logistics carriers like UPS and FedEx. COVID-19 has created chaos for them as well. Delivery demand shifted from a balanced 50/50 commercial and residential to 30/70. They don’t have enough drivers and trucks…or do they? That’s where we come in.

Bootworks by Point Inside reduces the number of people and trips required for deliveries. It costs delivery companies over $1 Billion per year to deliver packages inside large buildings. A small percentage in savings alone would justify the change, but the true benefit goes well beyond the reduction in expense. Bootworks allows delivery companies to re-allocate thousands of vehicle hours per month representing a sizable increase to their overall shipping capacity without any capital investment.

This Job Is:

  • Part of a team that is 100% remote. You are expected to be available for meetings and responsive on Slack between 10am and 4pm Pacific Time on workdays. We offer flexible schedules outside of core business hours.

  • Full time hourly position starting at $17/hr
